Melbourne, Australia — 4 October, 2023 — DS3-Global, an innovative Australian company changing the delivery of humanitarian aid, proudly announces the appointment of Mr Huy Truong as Chairman of the Board. Mr Truong's entrepreneurial journey and contribution to social impact make him a perfect fit to lead DS3-Global as it seeks to tackle a global humanitarian challenge.
Arriving in Australia as a boat refugee in 1978, Mr Truong's life story is of resilience and determination. His diverse career spans a wide spectrum of activities, ranging from impactful not-for-profit initiatives to key roles in government and commercial sectors.
Mr Truong serves as the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Thrive Refugee Enterprise, a transformative organization empowering refugees to thrive in new communities. He is also a Member of the Immigration Minister’s Settlement Advisory Council and chairs the Economic Participation committee for refugees and migrants, reporting to the Advisory Council. Mr Truong’s involvement extends to key roles in organisations such as the Migrant Justice Institute, Centre for Policy Development and Save the Children’s Impact Fund Investment Committee. His commercial acumen is reflected in his position as Managing Director of York Avenue Investment, along with previous roles as CEO and founder in ventures, including ALI Group, Jurlique International and Wishlist.com.au.
Mr Truong holds an Economic Honours Degree from Monash University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
